Introducing Ashley Etling, Founder of LimeLoop

Can you tell us about yourself?

Well, if not contemplating how to solve a new problem, you will most likely catch me in the kitchen cooking with friends and family (attempting to master the art of rice this year), working with other ambitious founders, and traveling. I just got back from travels in Africa and Europe with my brother and sister. I love spending time outdoors as well hiking, skiing, and biking. If you ever want to sit back and hear some good stories ask me about my competitive rock climbing days.

What exactly is LimeLoop?

The team at LimeLoop is taking on cardboard consumption. Instead of receiving a cardboard box on your doorstep you will now receive a shipper that can be reused. You remove the product from the shipper, place the shipper on your doorstep, and the carrier picks it up to be used for many more shipments. Keep an eye out for one at your home soon.

What inspired you to start LimeLoop?

Between a love for the outdoors and a passion for Supply Chain innovation I am constantly mixing up new solutions for a sustainable supply chain. My prior company, Red Clay, started as a ECommerce company. At the time I could not find sustainable packaging.  So I designed a shipper that could be reused hundreds of times.  And now eight years later, with ECcommerce and resource depletion on the rise the idea resurfaced and evolved into a packaging hardware and software solution for B2C.

How did you come up with the name?

A lime has a hard protective cover similar to a reusable shipper. And our mission is to provide a full circle solution for all packaging similar to a loop.

What was it like for you to start your own company?

To have the opportunity to pursue a passion with inspiring people is one of the most exciting and challenging experiences. I love it (ok most of the time) and feel lucky to be doing it.

What does a typical day look like for you?

This question makes me smile. There are few typical days in my life beyond catching some sleep, eating good food, and exercise.  The atypical aspect of it is what excites and motivates me.

What is your favorite part about running LimeLoop?

Collaborating with the incredible team, I am fortunate to create innovative solutions with.

What was the most valuable thing you got from your Accelerator experience?  What was the most surprising?

It was a reminder to take time to pause and reflect on growth professionally and personally.

What is one piece of advice you would give to a woman who wants to start her own company?

Eat well, exercise, get some sleep, and spend time with good friends and family. This will provide the foundation to build anything you believe in.

Is there anything else that you would like to share with us? Like a fun fact or a favorite quote?

“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”
